The Contest
Produce a 30 second to 2 minute video that answers the following question:

“How does the garden help you grow? ”

With the power of photos, video clips, words and/or song show the world what your garden program means to you and your school.

Prizes
• One winner will receive $400 ($300 in garden supplies for your garden and $100 cash for the creator of the video).
• One runner up will receive $150 ($100 in gardening supplies and $50 cash for the video creator)

Timeline
• SUBMISSION DEADLINE – May 5th, 2009 Deadline extended to May 15th, 2009. Entries will start being accepted on March 15, 2009.
• The winning videos and video creators will be announced at Life Lab’s 30th Birthday Party at the Life Lab Garden Classroom in Santa Cruz, CA on May 30th, 2009.

Details
• This contest is open to those associated with a garden program that serves kindergarten - twelth grade students. The video submitted should be about your garden program.
• Videos can be any style: fiction or documentary, animated or live action.
• Videos may be created by students or others associated with your garden program.
• Videos cannot be longer than two minutes or shorter than 30 seconds.
• Videos must have English subtitles if not in English.
• Videos will be judged by Life Lab Science Program Staff and Board Members. Video ratings by others (the popularity of your video) on the YouTube page will be considered by the judges but the highest video ratings on the YouTube page will not necessarily determine the winning video. Judging will be based on how well your video answers the question "How does the garden help you (and your fellow garden program participants) grow?"
