Professional Development Offerings

Life Lab Science Program is nationally acknowledged as a leader in the development and dissemination of science and garden-centered educational programs. We offer a range of professional development opportunities for pre- and in-service teachers, garden educators and volunteers. Life Lab provides training across the nation and at our Garden Classroom Training Center, located at the University of California Santa Cruz. Garden-Based Learning Workshops take place in the Garden Classroom or at your school/garden site. Choose one of our one or two-day workshops or work with us to customize your workshop to meet your specific needs.
California Department of Education Central Coast Garden Based Learning Training Center offers free and low cost workshops to educators in the Greater Monterey Bay Area. Our resource library, located at the Garden Classroom at UCSC, is available for browsing and includes hundreds of titles related to garden-based learning.
Regional Conference The Monterey Bay Science Project offers science institutes, academies, and a regional spring science conference.
