Mi Jardín Pequeño

Diseñe su propio mini huerto comestible con galletas saladas, hummus y verduras y hierbas frescas. Edad 6+ ~ 30 min

Esta es nuestra receta favorita del jardín porque es divertida, inspira la creatividad, ¡y anima a lxs niñxs a probar nuevas cosas! Necesitarás galletas de arroz (o tostadas, u otras galletas grandes y planas), frijoles refritos, (o hummus, pasta de frijol o queso crema ligero), y una variedad de verduras y hierbas cortadas en pedacitos. Si es posible, comienza caminando por un jardín y pide a lxs niñxs que describan lo que ven. Si no hay un jardín accesible, pide que cierren los ojos y describan un jardín que hayan visto antes. Plantas, rocas, senderos, árboles, tierra… ¡Todas estas cosas son parte de un jardín y vamos a usar nuestra imaginación para crear nuestros propios jardines miniatura y después comérnoslos! Asegúrense de lavarse bien las manos y después muestra a lxs niñxs una galleta o tostada untada con frijoles, hummus o queso crema sobre ella y demuestra cómo pegarle pedacitos de verduras y hierbas para crear un jardincito. Ten algunas extras por si a alguien se le cae su galleta o quiere crear más de una. Haz preguntas a lxs niñxs conforme crean sus jardines. Anímalxs a describir su “jardín” y lo que está creciendo en él. Una vez que ya compartieron, ¡disfruten juntxs de su saludable bocadillo del jardín!

También hemos usado esta actividad para hablar sobre poder comernos los colores del arcoíris, alentando así a lxs niñxs a realizar creaciones coloridas. También hemos aprovechado esta actividad para aprender sobre las seis partes de las plantas.

Become a Life Lab Certified Gardener! 🌱🌻Based on the success of our first four cohorts of Life Lab-Certified Garden Educators, we are excited to announce that registration is now open for individuals to register and be part of our fifth cohort starting January 23rd, 2023! We’ve put together a series of 4 on-line courses that will guide and support educators in becoming a Life Lab-Certified School Garden Educator. Upon successful completion of the 4 courses, participants will receive a certificate and the distinction of being a Life Lab-Certified Garden Educator. Each course will last 4 weeks long and include 4 synchronous meetings, at-home work, and a unique coaching model. The total commitment for the full series is 16 weeks. There are 24 spots available and we sold out in our last 4 certification series.
