March 8 - Radcliffe School Garden Clean Up and Redesign
Today we repaired some garden beds, moved and filled garden beds to sunnier spots of the garden, and set up an outdoor seating area.
March 1 - Ann Soldo School Clean Up and Perennial Plantings
Today we topped off all garden beds with soil amendments and mulched the whole garden site. Additionally, we helped students plant over 20 perennial plants that will add beauty and plant parts to study! Very eager 4th and 5th grade science class students lent a hand.
February 22 - More Garden Stations with Amesti Students
Today we did a bit of garden care and practiced lessons learned from the week prior. Working with recess and lunch time student helpers made for a great day.
February 15 - Garden Stations with Amesti Students
Today we transplanted, sowed wildflowers, made beany-babies and played garden games. Additionally we started transforming part of the greenhouse into a functional storage area by adding cabinets.
February 8 - Sign Installation and Lesson Prep
Today we installed the signs we painted and reviewed a few lessons we will run with students next week. Check out our Beany Baby Necklaces!
February 1 - Plant Grab and Sign Painting
We acquired over 150 gallon perennial habitat plants from the UCSC Farm that will be planted in school gardens and painted garden signs
January 25 - Signs and Succulents
We painted garden sign blanks and propagated succulent plants. We installed bird netting and trelissed sweet peas at Amesti School.
January 18 - Landmark School Garden Workday
6 Garden Crew and 6 5th graders spent 2 hours clearing beds and amending soil with 30 cubic feet of soil amendment. We seeded two beds of wildflowers, a row of sweet peas and planted 8 Perennial Flowering Habitat Plants.
January 11 - Amesti School Garden Workday
Today we weeded the future corn patch, finished buidling a garden bed, planted 6 six packs of veggies, seeded a bed with clover, and started installing the greenhouse irrigation.
